Express classes are assessment-only and only suitable if you hold a current qualification and train annually. If not, book a Regular or Full course instead.
Which Express Refresher do I need?

The “Express Refresher” part means that this 30-minute assessment only course is meant for learners who are seeking to renew their active HLTAID009 certificate.
Which Course Do I Need: HLTAID009 Express Refresher, HLTAID009 Regular, HLTAID011?
The HLTAID009 Express Refresher course is designed for individuals who already own an active certificate but are seeking to refresh their skills or the validity of their certificate.
For those who are seeking to earn their certificate and start learning about CPR, the HLTAID009 Regular course version is the ideal choice. As opposed to the assessment-only refresher course, the regular course is a 1.5 face-to-face training and assessment, with online theory taken before the class. There is also a “Full” class version available.
Finally comes the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course. This course is a comprehensive course that seeks to build a strong foundation for first aid skills and knowledge. The course covers the management of various illnesses and emergencies, CPR techniques, and AED usage just to name a few. HLTAID011 also has Express, Regular, and Full variants.
How Often Do I Need to Renew HLTAID009?
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that HLTAID009 be renewed every 12 months.
Does the HLTAID009 Express Refresher Course Have a Theory Component?
The HLTAID009 Express Refresher course offers an online pre-theory component that must be completed at least 24 hours before attending class.
What if my certificate has already lapsed?
Express Refreshers are only for learners with a current, active certificate in the relevant course. If yours has lapsed, book the matching Regular or Full course instead.
What should I bring to class?
Bring photo ID and your USI (Unique Student Identifier). If you haven’t registered for a USI yet, you can do so for free before your course.
Where can I do an Express Refresher?
Express Refreshers run at over 100 venues across Victoria, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. Let us know your preferred location and course when you enquire.
Can I book Express Refreshers for a whole team at once?
Yes. We run on-site group sessions for workplaces with flexible dates and volume pricing. Request a quote and a coordinator will tailor a session for your team.
What happens if I don’t pass the assessment?
Your trainer will work with you during the session to help you meet the assessment requirements. If you need more time, they’ll discuss options with you on the day.
Can I reschedule if something comes up?
