Which First Aid Course Do I Need?
The right course is largely dependent on a person’s needs. When people think about “first aid courses”, they usually associate it with physical first aid such as injuries or body illnesses. For this, courses like HLTAID011 and HLTAID012 are a good fit.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the standard first aid qualification required for most Australian workplaces. It is a comprehensive course that builds a strong first aid foundation. If you work in a childcare, early learning, or education and care environment, you may require HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting.
The other side of the coin is mental health first aid. While HLTAID012 caters to the physical side, Adult Mental Health Awareness & Support Training Course – Specialist (Level 3) is meant for the mental side. This course is meant to impart advanced skills that support individuals experiencing complex mental health needs.
