Practical Assessment –
Skills must be demonstrated working individually in an environment that provides realistic in-depth, industry validated scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge.
Please let us know if you have any medical conditions or special needs that may prevent you from getting on the floor. It is a requirement that CPR be performed for at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
Simulated assessment environments must simulate the real-life working environment where these skills and knowledge would be performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources of that working environment.
Assessment Resources must include –
- Adult and infant resuscitation manikins in line with ARC Guidelines for the purpose of assessment of CPR procedures.
- AED training device
- Workplace injury, trauma and/or illness record, or other appropriate workplace incident report form.

CPR Course FAQs
To keep our training costs down a large component of our courses are completed as theory at home prior to the class. And by not supplying refreshments on the day of training we are able to keep our prices low and offer student pricing for all.
It also means we can focus on the fun stuff on the day of the class, and incorporate more practical exercises and assessments rather than a theory-based class environment.
Our courses are nationally accredited and are the same courses delivered nationally by any other RTO (Registered Training Organisation) provider. All of our courses must follow the ARC guidelines if delivered in Australia to make them compliant.
If you need a general First Aid qualification, we recommend the HLTAID011 Provide first aid. This also includes CPR qualification. The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends updating this qualification every 3 years.
If you want to update CPR qualification then we recommend HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends updating this qualification annually.
If you are looking for a first aid qualification to work in the childcare and education industry and require Anaphylaxis and Asthma training ONLY, you should consider HLTAID012 Provide an emergency first aid response in education and care setting.
If you are working with children in Victoria, you are also be required to obtain first aid training qualifications in Asthma and Anaphylaxis. You need to check with the employer before enrolling, so that the client gets the proper training for their circumstance.
**** Please note that you still need to confirm with your employer first what qualification you need to take before you book in a class ****
The pre-study consists of multiple choice questions which can be done online.
Pre-study takes on average 5-8 hours. 95% of students prefer the online method (as opposed to attending another day) as it is convenient and cost effective.
Online First Aid courses are not accredited, so they can't be used for certification or employment purposes. The First Aid course assessment requires practical demonstration of CPR. This means that you will have to use an actual manekin, which is not available online for any reason and can only be found at real life training courses.
Yes. Your first aid certificate will state that you're qualified to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) because it's part of the training for those who have obtained their certification.
Defibrillation training is now a component of the 009 course, there is no longer a stand alone 22101VIC course
Our statement (certificate) will be emailed upon successful completion after 7pm the same day for morning classes, or next day for afternoon classes.
Your first aid qualifications will not expire. However, it is recommended that you update your qualification for First Aid every 3 years.
Most workplaces will require staff to have updated qualifications and because course codes can change every 2-3 years it is usually a requirement that first aiders hold a qualification for a current course.
